The Seniors Section at B.P.G.C is accessible to all male members aged 55yrs and above.

We meet every Tuesday throughout the year, and have tee times reserved for us from 0800 -1000 in the winter months and 0800 – 1030 in the summer months.

The range of competitions is varied. We hold monthly medals throughout the year; these are generally played on the second Tuesday of each month. Incorporated into these medal competitions are a summer and winter eclectic competition.

In addition we compete for five major trophies, which are open to all Senior golfers who have played in at least three seniors qualifying competitions in the preceding twelve months.

There are additional trophies to be played for plus regular singles Stableford competitions. Combined with this there are four annual mixed team events held with the Ladies Section.

One of our most popular types of competitions are our ‘balls in the bag’ days. These are held on Tuesdays when any of the above listed competitions are not being played. Players simply turn up prior to 0830, pay their entry and are then drawn to play in various team competitions held on these days. We rotate the competitions to add variety and they are based on, Texas Scramble, Am – Am, Waltz and Yellow Ball.

If you are looking to play with the Seniors this is an excellent starting point for newcomers who will find themselves playing with ‘mature’ golfers who play competitively but in completely the right spirit.

If all the above is not enough to tempt you, then there are also inter club matches, where we play thirteen different Clubs each year on a home and away basis.

Finally we do not forget the most important aspect of all and have at least three occasions where we can join together socially. Wining and dining on occasions, by ourselves, but also with our Ladies.
