Bewdley Pines is par 69 course which welcomes visitors to try their skills and enjoy its beautiful settings.

Bewdley Pines Golf Club is situated in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside in between Kidderminster and Bewdley on the B4190.

The course is  based on sandy soil, so even on the wettest of days the course drains within a very short time, and very rarely are days lost due to the weather, also there has never been a trolley ban on the course just showing how good the drainage is.

The current owners (Mrs Carol Hobday, Mrs Joan Baker, Mr Alan Hobday, Mr Kevin Baker) took over the club in December 1997,the course was a weed ridden field, which needed a lot of TLC and commitment from the owners to turn it from the rough diamond it was then to the "Gem" that it is today.

The commitment showed when the directors could be found weeding the greens by the light of their car headlights at 8pm on Christmas Eve, just so that the re-opening went to plan, and they could fulfil their promise to members that the course would re open on the Boxing Day.

The course is now a well manicured course, and the directors are always thinking of ways to improve it, only this year (2008) we have seen new Tee boxes and bunkers, plus planting of trees etc.

When the current owners took over, they used a portacabin for the club house for 3 1/2 years, and then they had the present day clubhouse opened on the 18th May 2002, by "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" host Chris Tarrant

The course starts with a dog leg par 5, with its narrow fairway it requires an accurate tee shot so that you miss the unforgiving rough

Then comes 3 holes that are shortish par 4s, which requires you to "thread" your tee shots between trees etc, what they lack in distance they make up for in the intricacy.

 Next there are 2 par 3's, which look easy enough, but with well placed bunkers and trees are a test to most golfers.

The course just goes on with a mixture of holes that test even the most seasoned golfer. Just a quick word about the par 3 14th. It is called Gorse Valley, which a lot of golfers think should be changed to "Death Valley" due to the amount of score cards the hole's ruined.

When you have finished your round there are facilities to take a shower etc, and then go into the club bar for refreshments where the staff will be more than pleased to serve you.

On the way out do not forget to visit the Pro Shop run by Mark Slater. The shop is stocked with a wide range of equipment and accessories. You can also hire trolleys and buggies, or if you feel you need them you can also book lessons with Mark.
